Chandre started training at a gym to keep fit and healthy. She realized that she needed the assistance of a personal trainer in order to achieve her personal fitness goals. She trained for over three years with him. During that time, she became close with her trainer’s other clients. It was encouraging to have a group of women to workout with who had common goals and interests. They were focused on competing in body building competitions and so Chandre thought she wanted the same. She compared herself to them on a daily basis but was just not getting the same results as they were. The obsession and frustration overwhelmed her, but she knew that she couldn’t just give up.
Chandre reached out for the support of her trainer. She relied on his knowledge and expertise in the field. He introduced her to anabolic steroid medication to help gain strength and muscle. After using the supplements for over two months, she realized that the results were fruitless and unsuccessful, in fact, she suffered from many negative side effects. Luckily, Chandre realized that this was an unhealthy lifestyle she was leading. She decided to leave the fitness group because of the negative pressure and canceled her sessions with her trainer. She made a clean break and cut the supplements out from her diet. The withdrawal resulted in excessive weight gain and severe depression.
Chandre needed the time to get her mind and body back to a healthy state. She focused on her self-confidence and setting her own goals. Chandre took on the P’tula Challenge and never felt better! It helped her realize that her health is of most importance. She is happy, fit and now feels comfortable in her own skin.
